David Lowe

David is a multiple Emmy award winner and is the longest serving president in KVIE history, becoming its sixth president in 2008. He joined the station in 2001 as a vice president. His prior experience includes positions with a Fortune 500 company, a publicly traded software company, and a venture capital backed software start-up. He has served as a board member of the Public Television Major Market Group and as president of California Public Television. He has represented PBS KVIE on the PBS Communications Advisory Committee, PBS Development Advisory Committee, and PBS Digital Advisory Council. His local community board service includes American Leadership Forum, California Hall of Fame Advisory Board, Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce, Los Rios Foundation, Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce, and the Sacramento Metro Chamber. David received his B.A. in English, magna cum laude from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He completed American Leadership Forum Class XIII, Leadership Sacramento, Public Media Diversity Leaders Initiative, and the UC Davis Executive Program. He was named in Sacramento Magazine’s Power & Influence 100, Sacramento 300, and the Sacramento Business Journal’s 40 Under 40. David received the Pillar of Public Service Award from America’s Public Television Stations in 2018. And in 2023, he was named Businessman of the Year by the Sacramento Metro Chamber.

Rose Froling
Human Resources Executive

Rose joined PBS KVIE in 2005, bringing general human resources experience in telecommunications, banking, and mortgage banking industries in Southern California. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field of human resource management as a subject matter expert in compliance, benefits, strategic development, and conflict management with an emphasis in California law. Rose holds the following certifications: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Professional in Human Resources – California (PHRca), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP). As a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, she holds a B.A. in Sociology. For the past ten years, Rose has volunteered with the Human Resources Certification Institution (HRCI) exam development process. At PBS KVIE her primary function is fostering a culture of inclusion, diversity, and opportunity.

Staci Orlando
Associate General Manager – Operations / Chief Financial Officer

Staci joined PBS KVIE in 2016 bringing with her nearly two decades’ print media experience including system implementation and project management in addition to her financial management roles. She worked for the largest metro daily newspaper in Ohio and also served local businesses and readers through our Sierra foothill community newspapers. Staci began her career as a corporate accountant with the DeBartolo Corporation, operated by the owners of the San Francisco 49ers NFL franchise. She dedicated 12 years teaching graduate accounting and information systems courses as a member of senior faculty (adjunct) for the Keller Graduate School of Management after earning her MBA from Regis University. Staci is a Certified Public Accountant and sole proprietor of a vintage collectibles business.

Michael Sanford
Associate General Manager – Production

Michael joined KVIE in 2005 as Executive Producer of America’s Heartland, the national series airing on PBS stations celebrating U.S. agriculture. He was named VP of Content Creation in 2008, and Associate GM for Production in 2017. Michael oversees all KVIE local, regional, and national productions, including the California statewide series Inside California Education, America’s Heartland, ViewFinder, Rob on the Road, KVIE Arts Showcase, and Yes! We’re Open. He has been awarded three regional Northern California Emmys for his work on those programs.  He also hosts the KVIE magazine-style series Sunday Stories. Michael has spent more than 40 years in television news and production. He previously served as the editorial producer for Business Now airing on ABC affiliates in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston and Washington, D.C. Michael’s background also includes a reporter/producer role for News Travel Network, a San Francisco-based company providing consumer travel reports for TV news programs. His reporting took him to Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Tahiti, and New Zealand, as well as across Europe and the U.S. Michael has also produced television segments for CNN, the Discovery Channel, and the Travel Channel.
