Sandy Fong Whetstone
Sculpture
Sandy Fong Whetstone is an award-winning ceramic sculptor, printmaker, painter, and fiber artist. Her work reflects the beauty and humor found in nature and explores our fraught relationship with it – our struggle to impose our will on nature contrasted with our efforts to preserve it. Her earliest exposure to art was through her father, who studied art in Los Angeles at the Chouinard Art Institute. However, it was not until 2008 that she pursued art seriously as a studio artist at Panama Pottery. She has given mosaic and printmaking workshops at the Crocker Art Museum, printmaking workshops at Myrtle Press, and currently offers ceramic workshops from her home studio.
Susan Ballenger

Susan Ballenger was the 2021 Best of Show winner of the PBS KVIE Art Auction. She is a California native, earned a fine arts degree from Principia College in Illinois, and continued her studies at the New England School of Art & Design and the Art Institute of Boston. Ballenger paints predominantly in acrylic, with her style and paint application influenced by her training in watercolor. Her series of urban and rural landscapes, scooters, succulents, palm trees, and desserts have been featured at numerous local galleries. Her “Watermark” show was featured in the PBS KVIE Gallery in 2022. Ballenger strives for bold compositions and vibrant color in her work.
