JARED KONOPITSKI "STORIES"
AUGUST 1, 2017 – SEPTEMBER 29, 2017
About "Stories"
Each painting is a window into a story that never existed. The titles of each piece tell a part of that story, but leave it to the viewer to fill in the rest. I want the viewer to imagine and paint pictures in their mind and visualize, in their own way, how the stories end and begin. Some of the pieces are painted on existing or used images in order to create further narrative depth. This was all in a tribute to my first piece given to the KVIE Art Auction years ago. I created a painting on top of a found used canvas from a local thrift store. The title of the piece was several sentences long and intended as a piece of a story as opposed to a traditional title. This approach led to many other stories given to KVIE and eventually resulted in this show. Come prepared to view the images, read the stories and maybe even share where tales take you. - JK
