About the Exhibition:
Northern California’s agricultural significance is evident in its vast and numerous farm fields and orchards. These fields and orchards—when viewed from an aerial perspective—can reveal textures and patterns that are not as readily apparent at ground level. The paintings are my interpretations of how those textures and patterns would look on a canvas. I use a careful compositional layout, a particular choice of colors, thickened paint and a variety of tools to create the image. There are four general geographic areas that I focused on for the works in this show: (1) the Delta, (2) the lower Sacramento River, (3) the Sacramento River north of the city, and (4) the area in proximity to the airport.
